The Boy and the Rose Cafe in North Avoca is different. There’s a feeling of heart and soul in this place just across from the beach.
North Avoca isn’t very touristy despite all the Airbnbs in the area. In fact it seemed like most people coming into the cafe knew each other.
One of the first things I noticed when we sat down was a little sign just outside the cafe that said if any child collected 5 pieces of rubbish from they beach, they will be treated to a free Zooper Dooper. How cool is that? So socially responsible of the beautiful beach but also just so easy-going … and Aussie 🙂
The menu itself is quirky and individual:
The back page of the menu has a story of how the Boy and The Rose Cafe came to be…it’s super cute but it’s something you have to see/read for yourself.
So first coffee:
The coffee came out in no time, and I loved the antique spoon against the modern coffee cup.
We had the Acai Brekky Bowl which was simply gorgeous:
Topped with loads of fresh fruits and coconut shavings.
My choice was the sweet potato avocado smash with fetta.
This was a real highlight on our weekend away. Make sure you take your four-legged friends with you as well because these guys were really accommodating with furry friends.
