Indian wedding guest style

Up until I had gotten married myself, I’m pretty certain I had only attended a handful of weddings. Since then I’ve attended nearly 7 over the past year and half. More weddings = more outfits.

It’s kind of like that phase when you are in your early 20s and you have a 21st party to go to every other week..I guess I’m at the stage where everyone is getting married!

This particular wedding was held in Fiji and spanned over 2 nights for mehendi and the actual wedding ceremony itself.

I had made up my mind I was not going to buy any new outfits. Lucky for me, this is easier when you can just borrow from your sisters πŸ™‚

For the mehendi event I wore a navy blue kameez/kurti and accessorized with gold bangles and kundan style earrings.

I was worried about this outfit…thinking that the colour is too “dark” for such a cheerful occasion where everyone usually wears bright colours. It ended up looking really elegant.

The outfit is from Meena Bazaar and was one that was delivered late. Read about that here.

It came with a navy blue dupatta as well and since I couldn’t figure out how to drape it with the long sleeves, I just left it out.Β It ended up being quite a wise idea since it kept my hands free from constantly adjusting dupattas while we danced away.

It isn’t really evident from the pictures but the salwar top has long splits on the sides and from the middle as well. The nude coloured churidaar added some balance to the overall look.

And I have to say I love the all the clothes I have bought from Meena Bazaar. They stitch to customize, and they do it really well. The quality is always better than what I would expect as well. Apart from the confusions I had with the wrong parcel being delivered to me last year, I would not hesitate to buy from them again.

For the wedding day itself I wore a white saree borrowed from my sister. She bought it from CBazaar back in 2014 to wear to my wedding but she ended up changing her mind.

The saree has dainty mirror work running along the border and after much deliberating back and forth I paired it with a dull gold blouse

All I knew when I first heard about this wedding was that I wanted to wear my green stone necklace again for my pop of colour:

It’s too pretty to only wear once!

I kept this look simple as well by only accessorizing with the above and a bejeweled gold clutch and gold bangles.

These outfits were perfectly light and airy for the beautiful 25 degree winter that Fiji was having.

Have you noticed it too? Are you suddenly attending a whole lot more wedding than ever before?

Have a great weekend guys!
