Last month I had an Indian wedding to attend… I don’t know about you, but I hem and haw for months with deciding on an outfit and accessories. Since I was quite pleased with my overall look this time around, I thought it was worth sharing 🙂
For mehendi night I had ordered a salwar suit from Meena Bazaar and they made an error and sent me a saree instead :-O
Since they couldn’t send me my correct outfit in time for the functions they let me keep the saree as an apology gesture which annoyed me *deep breathing* but I got over it since they had been pretty good when I ordered outfits for my own wedding.
The saree wasn’t exactly suited to my personal style (too busy/loud) but I just wore it for the heck of it…and you know what? I actually kind of ended up liking wearing something out of my usual comfort zone
The saree was in a half and half style with a thick black and gold border, silk floral print and the red achra in a stretchy lyrca material.
I also had a red bindi, hair in a messy bun and my mangalsutra.
My earring are from the classy Karatcart range on Craftsvilla and were a bargain at 400rs ($8AUD)
For the wedding day I borrowed a pink georgette saree from my sister.
The saree is very similar to the Meena Bazaar picture. I paired it once again with Karatcart jewels from Craftsvilla and green and pink bangles with gold.
And yeah the look was very simple but I absolutely loved the royal, elegant vibe the green stones and kundan necklace gave against the soft pink saree. I felt pretty damn classy.
I kept the blouse a plain sleeveless gold blouse to bring a element of “young” to the outfit.
And I swear I’ll try harder next time but once again I didn’t get any pictures of myself in these looks. Boo.
What do you think of the 2 looks? What is your wedding guest style?
By the way, believe it or not but this post is not sponsored. I also got the kameez I had ordered originally and am looking forward to wearing that at the next wedding function I attend.
