A weekend in Canberra

As a child I loved going to Canberra. The drive is about 3 hours from Sydney and you get to see some of the beautiful country side that Australia has to offer.

Having said that, I felt like I hadn’t explored our Capital very well, so we set off for a weekend away.

After reading only positive review for, my choice of accommodation was the funky East Hotel. The hotel was modern, clean and had a great relaxed vibe with plenty of personal touches

I loved the gorgeous display of the wonderful smelling Appelles toiletries which had fragrances of lemon myrtle and sandalwood. We were even given bath salts as a nice touch for the spa tub in our room.

And another example of why The East Hotel wasΒ so cool:

They had lollies and lemon water in their foyer. They also had bikes for hire, a mini library and a fireplace to stay warm as well as a cafe and bar (more on the bar later).

My favourite place to visit in Canberra has always been the Australian War Memorial. It is beautiful and I always leave feeling grateful and full of thanks for the men and women who have served our country.

Apart from the War Memorial we also visited Questacon which will make youΒ wish you were 12 again as well as the Parliament House.

Stay tuned for my Canberra food post.
